Our final (tax-deductible!) plea

Your last chance this year to support local, independent media that matters

Dear Readers,

Happy New Year, and thanks to everyone who has helped 48 Hills get this far. A non-profit independent publication, dedicated to local journalism—with actual human writers, who actually live in and love the city? It seemed impossible, but we are doing it.

If we could just get $2000 more in the bank to kick off the new year—or 10 more $20/month recurring donors—we would be in a great position to take on 2026. Your 2025 donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law!

Reminders of our important work: We give you The Agenda every Monday, a guide to the major political events you need to know about for the coming week. We cover stories that don't get the same attention from the other news media. We go behind the obvious headlines and tell you what's really happening. We investigate and break big stories.

We have published more than 10,000 vital and diverse cultural reviews, previews, and interviews at a time when outlets are turning their backs on local arts, the soul of our city. At our fall fundraising gala, former Sup. Dean Preston put it simply: "I don't know what San Francisco would do without 48hills."

Thanks for all you do,

Tim, Marke, and the 48 Hills family
