Mister Softee can be yours this (or every) weekend

A few months ago, I started hearing the unmistakable Mister Softee ice cream truck playing in my San Francisco neighborhood, which was a trip because I knew it to be an old-school East Coast thing from all my visits to New York City. I haven't seen anyone write about the arrival of Mister Softee NorCal and the fact that there's now a fleet of trucks that are going all over the Bay Area and beyond every day and that can be rented for private events.
If you're looking for a frosty adventure this weekend, Mister Softee trucks will be in the following areas:
Saturday, September 6
Alameda
Dublin
Fremont
Martinez
Newark - Birch Grove Park area
Pacifica
Palo Alto
San Jose - Los Paseos Park area
San Jose - Miner Park area
San Mateo - Beresford Park area
SF - Mira Loma

SF - Outer Richmond
Tracy
Sunday, September 7

Consult Mister Softee NorCal's real time map to see exactly where the trucks will be when you are ready to go ice cream hunting this weekend or any week day/evening. And here's the menu, so you can decide in advance between a Double Softee, cherry sundae, banana split, shake, soda float, or several other options.
This week's Good Taste column celebrates the return of Kitchen Table, a San Francisco event series about "food, writing, and food writing," and co-founder Paolo Bicchieri's upcoming political food writing workshop. Bicchieri daylights as the audience editor for Eater in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.

See you next weekend!
