Weekend Adventure Idea: Self-Guided Dogpatch Pastry Crawl

Weekend Adventure Idea: Self-Guided Dogpatch Pastry Crawl
Patty melt with kimchi slaw on a sesame croissant by SOHN

If you've been pushed to the edge and all your friends are bread, I've got a fun weekend idea for you: go on a self-guided tour of loaves and pastries in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood at Neighbor Bakehouse (2343 Third Street), the week-old Korean-American cafe SOHN (2535 Third Street), and the two-month-old Pier 70 location of Breadbelly (Building 12, 1070 Maryland Street).

You'll likely encounter lines at each, which can be tackled more easily if you are actually with another human or two and split up. The tables outside of Breadbelly at Pier 70 are a great place to take your hauls. This new location doesn't (yet?) accept advance online orders, like the original shop on Clement Street does.

Pastries at Breadbelly

There are no wrong answers at any of these stops, but I will say that the Neighbor Bakehouse bread is super legit and the SOHN patty melt is living rent free in my head several days after I tried it. And I'd advise saving room for a small but mighty bottle of guava chocolate milk at Breadbelly.

I look forward to bringing more fun weekend ideas like this to you!
